Who I Am

A Bit About Me

With a thirty-year career in corporate learning and organizational effectiveness, I understand firsthand the challenges that come with behavioral change and process improvement. With a B.A. in English and B.S. in Education, I have authored and trained more than 500 courses. I am an expert at assessing systems, tweaking broken processes, and establishing best practices. With my ‘there’s got to be a better way to do this’ determination, I lead my professional team with vigor and intention. So, when my mom fell in 2014 and her life, and mine, changed in an instant, I naturally applied my organizational, communication, project management, resource planning, meeting coordination, and follow up skills that I use every day to my new role as project manager of mom’s life. Along the way, I became a “semi-pro” member of an aging parent’s care team, and an expert in elder care terminology, insurance coverage, and process migration when an elder falls, breaks a bone, and requires rehab. This knowledge, coupled with my training, change management and organizational effectiveness skills, underpin my qualifications to write this book. As GenX’rs, we clung to our “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” reference like a bible when we entered the unknown world of parenthood. We now need a new “bible” on our shelf. Caring for our elders is hard. It’s like becoming a parent for the first time, only in reverse, and I don’t want anyone else to have to learn like I did, so I wrote: Mom Fell, Now What? to replace the dust-gathering What to Expect When You’re Expecting on GenX’r bookshelves.

“She is my champion at work and pushes me to exceed my own expectations of myself. She listens and ensures I am happy with the work I am doing.”
