One in Four Adults is a Caregiver
Caregivers are diverse across race, income, and generation. And, twenty-nine percent are sandwich generation caregivers, meaning they are supporting both children and older adults
By 2040, twenty-one percent of the U.S. population will be sixty-five and older, up from sixteen percent in 2019. In twenty years, we will have over seventy-seven million older Americans. There will be more elderly people than children under eighteen. According to a Caregiving in the U.S 2025 report, sixty-three million Americans will be caregivers, a nearly fifty percent increase since 2015.
