Mom Fell, Now What?

Project Manager of Mom’s Life

When you become the project manager of mom’s (or dad’s) life, there is no training. One minute you are hanging out with your college son, and the next you are thrust into a subculture you never knew existed, and one you never signed up for. It’s like becoming a parent for the first time, only in reverse. You don’t know what you don’t know.

A Gray Tsunami

By 2040, 21 percent of the U.S. population will be sixty-five and older, up from 16 percent in 2019. In twenty years, we will have more than seventy-seven million older Americans. There will be more elders than children under eighteen, and our nation is heading toward a “gray tsunami,” according to Jonathan Vespa, Demographer for the U.S. Census Bureau.

“Jessica taught me so much about a subject I thought I was already an expert on: myself!”
